Kasama Chrysanthemum Festival & Archery Competition

Kasama is about 30-45 minutes by car from Mito. Matt, Kendon, Catera and myself went out on Saturday. It was a really neat little mountain type town, with lots of character. The Chrysanthemum's were huge!! I think it's Miracle Grow or something...I dunno. We also got to watch the Archery Competition. It was really neat!! The riders are riding on horseback (using no hands) at full speed, and must hit and break a piece of wood maybe 1 1/2 foot square (that's a guess). Its quite impressive! The riders' uniforms were very pretty. However, the Oklahoma girl who loves rodeos came out it me. I referred to the covering on their legs as chaps! I had to laugh at myself. Along with the Chrysanthemums and Archery, Kasama is known for its pottery. So, we also got to go to the pottery festival! It was very cool as well! I hope you enjoy the pictures!
