Okay, so everyone I meet here asks me where in Mito I live. I have NO clue has been my reaction until last night! I was very excited that I was able to give my friend Matt and Kendon directions to my apartment. Please do not misunderstand I still do not know anything about directions in the city, but I will get there. So here goes...if you come to Mito this is where you can find me.
I live directly north of Akatsuka train station. If you are driving on Highway 50 (the main E/W highway in Mito) you will see a sign for the Akatsuka Post Office, turn north there. You will see a 7-11 (aka "a conbeny") on your left and my apartment turn in is just after that on your left. I live in the Leo Palace apartments. So there you go...now you all have directions to my apartment! No problem right?
Ok, so now that you know how to get to my apartment I will show you pictures of my apartment! It is very nice and high-tech! As Matt & Kendon said it even smells new! Oh and apparently it is a BIG deal that I have 3 burners on my stove and a really big fish tray.
So enjoy!

This is one view from my balcony. This faces East at 4:45 am. That is what time I woke up the first morning I was here!

This is the view facing West.

This is obviously right inside my door. The first time I walked into the apartment I forgot to take off my shoes and I got gently reminded that in Japan we take off our shoes. OOPS! I am better now! I even bought a pair of slippers yesterday for my apartment.

This is my toilet room. As you can see there is a set of slippers that are also left in the toilet room for people to use when they step in there. Oh, and yes that is a small sink of sorts on the toilet!

This is my kitchen (looking from the living/bedroom). It is a very nice kitchen and big in comparison to others that I know.

This is my washer and sink area. This is also connected to my shower room (next picture).

This is my shower room. Yes, it is an entire room. No there is no curtain you are supposed to get the entire room wet. I actually like it quite a lot! This room can also double as a dryer for your clothes. It has a dryer built in along with a dehumidifier and cooler! All buttons!

This is my living/bedroom looking from the kitchen. The big bright door is my balcony and also where all of the light comes in at 4:30 in the morning!

This is my pretty spacious closet. I finally got a few hangers so I will get around to hanging things up now.
OK so this is my apartment. Now when I talk about burning something in the kitchen you know what it looks like and so on so forth. So all is going well here and I was able to meet people today at church. I must end for now, because I am starting "work" tomorrow. I will post more later!
Sayonara!

WHat an amazing start to a fabulous adventure! The waterfalls are absolutely gorgeous, although I could pass on the freezing water.
Pokes are struggling. I heard today that Mike Gundy is in protective custody awaiting the witness protection program. Alas, Orange Power is pretty powerless right now!
Can't wait to hear more.
